    Business Notebooks: Business notebooks are designed for professionals who use their laptops primarily for work-related applications and don't necessarily need all the multimedia bells and whistles of a consumer focused notebook.



    General Purpose Notebooks: General purpose notebooks meet the needs of most home and student users, and are specifically designed for browsing the web, sending email, and using standard word processing and basic data management applications.



    Multimedia Notebooks: These notebooks usually have fast processors and graphics chips that are capable of handling and presenting large video files and other multimedia content.
